Above title has a particular word in English vocabulary - 'entomophagy'.

Eating insects is something which is practiced in every corner of the world. Over 3000 ethnic groups practice entomophagy. Over 1900 species of insects are recognised as edible.

Then you may be wondering why the even thought of eating insects make us puke rather than yum that is because of the evolved western culture and considering entomophagy to be something low class kind of stuff.
There are approximately 2 billion insect consumers across the globe out of the population of 7 billion.

Surprisingly insects have higher content of protein fats and other minerals when compared to conventional meat.
Some insects consists 80% protein of their body weight which is even higher than whey protein (pun intended)
Locust contains 31 mg of iron per 100 g where as beef contains mere 6mg per 100g.
Also insects are good for the environment as well. Insects are cold blooded creatures this requires less resources to sustain themselves.

Crickets require around 2kg of feed to produce around 1kg of meat whereas a cow requires 8kg of meat to prepare the same amount of meat. Also grazing space required for cattles is much much higher when compared to crickets.

Trivia:

Cattle farts are a huge contributer to global warming crisis. They contribute around 18% of the total global warming emissions which is way more higher than the combined CO2 released by vehicles, airplanes etc.
If properly cultivated the insects may taste like mint.
Some have reported insects to taste somewhat like chicken, fish.
Some even tastes like beef

But there are some issues regarding insect husbandry. For instance of insects are not stored properly can lead to toxicity and serious levels of food poisoning in humans.
Some insects absorbs pesticides to a great extent causing a chain reaction of side effects to humans as well.

You may be wondering why entomophagy is a pertinent issue well because we are suffering from a massive food crises with exponentially growing population burden thus making insects a good source of nutrition.

Only main concern for food engineers is that people think insects to be gross. To tackle this the only think that is working is to grind these insects and mix it up into various foods in an unrecognised form.
For instance in some parts of the world crickets are mixed with wheat to make flour

Thus we conclude with our profundity on the topic. Please give us any feedback and improvements you want us to implement into the blog untill then

Could DNA be the possible future storage?

Welcome to yet another blog on be simply smart. As you always know we decipher complicated and subtle things into much more easier and understandable language. We would make you sound smarter among you're peers. We cover those topics which are a must go to topics for a casual discussion which are indeed profound DNA digital data storage is the process of encoding and decoding binary data to and from synthesized strands of DNA. While DNA as a storage medium has enormous potential because of its high storage density, its practical use is currently severely limited because of its high cost and very slow retrieval process. PROGRESS INTO DNA STORAGE In March 2018, University of Washington and Microsoft published results demonstrating storage and retrieval of approximately 200MB of data. The research also proposed and evaluated a method for random access of data items stored in DNA. In March 2019, the same team announced they have demonstrated a fully automated system to en...
